The story
Four ARGO Avenger 750 EFI amphibious vehicles took an active part in the flood response in the flooded districts of Sandomierz and the surrounding area.
The ARGO vehicles took part in rescue operations on behalf of the flood crisis team.
The vehicles were operated by, among others, our staff from INTERVENT and firefighters from the Ożarów Mazowiecki volunteer fire brigade. During the rescue operations people and small animals were evacuated in the vehicles, and food and water were delivered. The ARGO vehicles were also used for reconnaissance in the flooded areas. With their wading ability, our vehicles were the only ones that performed perfectly in mud and water. The flood crisis team and the cooperating services appreciated the versatility and low weight of the ARGO. A weight of about 500 kg and trouble-free movement over any terrain and on water are unbeatable advantages in operations of this kind; our ARGO vehicles did not damage buildings, fences or roads. In flooded areas the vehicles have one more advantage over boats. You never know what obstacles lie where, or at what depth under the water, so the propeller engines that drive boats usually fail at once when they hit one. ARGO vehicles, by contrast, are driven mainly by their wheels or tracks when afloat, so they clear underwater obstacles easily and carry on without difficulty.
